When asked what I do most of the time I respond, “I work with teenagers and their parents.”  If I want to be playful, but also honest, I lean forward and whisper, “I see dead people… and I help them live.”  Of course, this is sort of an adapted line from the movie “The Sixth Sense.”  It just happens to work for most of us on Planet Earth.

It’s all about finding ways of living our best lives, and this is not always easy to do, in this age- so many stresses, temptations, and demands on our lives.

We fool ourselves in thinking that life ought to be one long, smooth road, with occasional patches of rough pavement.  Actually, the opposite is true… most of life is a long stretch of challenging and bumpy road, with intermittent and glorious moments of smooth travel.  This is normal, and even good for us- ‘keeps us on our toes, without allowing too much moss to collect!  But it is still challenging, an is even occasionally agonizing.

A long time ago I discovered that it is quite helpful to have an experienced guide available or onboard.  That’s what I do.  For nearly 50 years I have offered “traveling mercies,” and wisdom, to those who feel they need it.

For the past 30 years I have specialized in helping divorcing couples navigate the unpleasant passage of separation and divorce.  It’s excruciating for couples, but is especially hard on the kids- even life-changing, and usually not in a good way.  I help with custody, co-parenting, and reconciliation issues through therapeutic consultation and am available to assist the legal process with Court-mandated services such as Parenting Coordination and co-parenting services.  Often I am called upon to help the children of divorcing parents adjust to their new and painful realities.

So, that’s what I have to offer, along with regular therapy for issues relating to anxiety, depression, and adjustment to the changing issues of life.  If you think that’s what you need I invite you to give me a call.  You can do this!
