Sophia Rodriguez

Graduate Student Intern, Servicios en Español, if requested

You are one of a kind, and your experience, values, faith, family history, and culture are all integral pieces that have influenced how you perceive yourself and the world. I practice a holistic and multicultural approach that considers how unique you are. Together, we can create a comfortable space to facilitate personal growth and healing.

My name is Sophia Rodriguez, and I'm a student intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Master's Program. I am Hispanic and grew up with family that did not believe in "Mental Health". But now, I am passionate about it and believe that the mind and our emotions are complex gifts from God.

Coming into counseling is not always easy. Even considering an appointment can be uncomfortable. I encourage you to remember that we are all deserving of a little help and compassion. Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, loneliness, or any other form of mental/emotional distress, you will be received with love and heard with an empathetic ear. Together, we will create a comfortable environment and use therapeutic interventions to address your concerns.

Your autonomy will always be respected, and if you would like to incorporate faith, we can use prayer, scripture, worship, meditation, and any other faith-based practice into our sessions. Life is a journey. We can walk down that road together.

If you are considering therapy for your child or teen, we can work together towards your child's mental and emotional well-being. Play therapy is a useful technique that helps children feel free to share their feelings in a language that they feel comfortable with; PLAY! Older kids can also benefit from therapeutic activities and talk therapy to facilitate treatment.

I would be honored to walk with you and your family into healing.
